What is the difference between inviting members and adding members?

In a Private group, the admin or the members, depending on the group settings can add more members to the group, using their contact address book. The members added, directly join the group.

In a Public group, anyone in the group can share the invite link of the group to request others to join. Invited members will required Admin approval if the Auto Approve setting is turned off.
